Crackdown 2 DLC Will Break Your Xbox 360

crackdown 2 600x329 Crackdown 2 DLC Will Break Your Xbox 360Well it won’t exactly break it the Crackdown 2 DLC will greatly limit your gaming experience in that it will cause your Xbox 360 to freeze up when trying to load up your game. The cause for this is the Toy Box add-on which was released earlier today and has been ruining the lives of those that downloaded it since.

Those of you that have fallen prey to this terrible piece of DLC can still play Crackdown 2 however you will first have to uninstall the Toy Box DLC from your hard drive. There should hopefully be a fix for this DLC that will allow you to actually play it. Until then feel free to send angry emails to Microsoft.

PlayStation 3 Will Not Support 3D Blu-Ray This Month

ps3 3d PlayStation 3 Will Not Support 3D Blu Ray This MonthImage via 1UP.com

Those of you that were excited to finally watch Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs in glorious 3D Blu-Ray will probably be slightly irate when you find out that Sony isn’t going to release this patch until next month. Originally when Sony released the first patch that allowed gamers with 3D TVs to play various games in 3D they said we would see a 3D patch for Blu-Ray in September.

Unfortunately that is not the case as Sony announced the delay during their IFA press event that was held yesterday. Of course fear not as this patch should be out long before Avatar and Alice in Wonderland become available on 3D Blu-Ray in November.

Hey Low Hello Kitty – Master Chief Gets Cute

halo hello kitty 600x298 Hey Low Hello Kitty Master Chief Gets CuteHow do you know that a video game series is successful? When your main character becomes a Hello Kitty figure, and in this case I’m talking about Halo.

Auckland-based Designer Joseph Senior decided to remix Hello Kitty into some well known characters. These include Robocop, Darthvader, Wolverine and Master Chief just to name a few. Currently these are only concepts however if they do become available for sale I have every intention of picking one up.

StarCraft II Sold 3 Million Copies In The First Month

starcraft 2 600x432 StarCraft II Sold 3 Million Copies In The First MonthBlizzard Entertainment has announced this morning that StarCraft 2 has sold over 3 million copies worldwide in its first month of existence. Sure it’s easy to think these number might be inflated however given that the game sold half that amount in just 2 days this number is very easy to believe.

Before you go off and talk about how Modern Warfare 2 sold more copies in one day than this game sold in a month keep in mind that first person shooters are a major genre in gaming while real time strategy games aren’t. For a real time strategy game to sell this good it’s nothing short of amazing and personally I can’t wait to see how many copies this game will sell in the coming months.

StarCraft Movie Will Come Out If James Cameron Will Direct

starcraft movie StarCraft Movie Will Come Out If James Cameron Will DirectI know what you are thinking right now “but Cody there is plenty of fan fiction I can watch on YouTube!” Well despite what most may think about my thoughts on reading I actually dislike reading and the less reading I have to do the happier I am, so reading fan fiction on YouTube doesn’t really do it for me. However Blizzard has actually been looking into bringing StarCraft to the big screen for a while now except Blizzard only wants to do it if the right person will direct it.

“We’ve always had an interest in seeing our stuff on film or TV. It’s just tricky to find the right partners,” Blizzard’s Rob Pardo told MTV Multiplayer. “We probably could have made a [StarCraft] movie or something on TV years and years ago, but it’s really important to us that we find creative people that are really talented but also really excited about our properties. That’s always been the challenge for us. I think if Jim Cameron came to us tomorrow and said, ‘You want to make a StarCraft movie?’ we’d probably sign that.”

Okay so Blizzard wants James Cameron to direct their movie, I suppose they liked his work in Titanic and I suppose I would have to agree with that. Of course then there is the issue with that little budget movie Cameron made about those blue people and it was shot in 3D with work like that I’d likely tell him no..

Of course I wouldn’t expect to see a StarCraft movie anytime soon considering the World of Warcraft movie has been in limbo for quite a while now.

Microsoft Is Increasing The Price Of Xbox Live

xbox live 600x335 Microsoft Is Increasing The Price Of Xbox LiveMicrosoft I never thought I’d say this but I’m not happy about your price increase for Xbox Live. To better clarify I’m not happy that they are increasing the price at all, I thought it was perfectly fine paying what the current price each month for what Xbox Live offers. Take a look at the graph which indicates every price change that will take place, if it’s not on there then the price isn’t changing. Americans (like myself) are getting the short straw in this one as all of our plans are going up in price.

Alright so I’m not sure where Microsoft thinks their online gaming service is worth $10 a month which is the same price as Hulu Plus and some Netflix packages. All Microsoft is giving me is a way to play games online with others, which is free on the PlayStation Network. While I will argue that Xbox Live is better than PSN and I have no problem paying for the service, having them increase the pricing to $10 a month is just insane, that’s $120 a year for those of you that failed math. Of course the solution would be the buy the 1 year subscription for $60 which is half the price but still that is expensive!

Hopefully online retailers will continue to sell Xbox Live cheaper than Microsoft otherwise I may have to drop my Xbox Live subscription. What do you think about the new pricing plans going into effect November 1st of this year?
